Extreme temperatures, such as particularly high or low temperatures, place a strain on the entire luminaire. In addition to the sensitive LEDs, all other materials and electronic components must also be able to withstand these extreme temperatures. Luminaires designed for high temperatures face particular challenges: high ambient temperatures have a direct impact on the service life of LEDs and control gear. When planning, particular attention must be paid to the ambient temperature to which the specified service life refers, as this is usually stated only for a temperature of +25°C. In high-temperature environments, this specification may differ significantly from the actual service life achieved. NORKA offers high-temperature luminaires for ambient temperatures up to +90°C. In contrast to luminaires for high temperatures are those designed for cold stores and other deep-freeze areas with temperatures as low as -40°C. Condensation, the effects of low temperatures on electronic components and the materials used require suitable luminaires for low temperatures in areas such as deep-freeze warehouses or cold stores.
