Light accompanies every work process, often unnoticed but indispensable. It provides orientation, supports workflows, and ensures that complex environments function safely. But modern lighting can do more today. It can be intelligently managed, precisely controlled, and flexibly adapted to the rhythm of a building or facility. Reliable lighting ensures smooth operations in industry, infrastructure, and other complex environments. XARA® was developed by NORKA specifically to control lighting intelligently and in an energy-optimized manner under extreme conditions. XARA® provides precise, demand-based lighting control and automatically adjusts the lighting to movement, daylight, and the specific requirements of your facility.
Lighting levels are dynamically controlled based on usage, time of day, and ambient light, thereby creating optimal lighting conditions exactly where they are needed. Whether it’s simple applications with master/slave logic, projects with sensors, push buttons, and control elements such as displays, or complex systems with monitoring, central control, and integrated emergency lighting, XARA® covers the entire spectrum. From a small entry-level system to a comprehensive system solution, the lighting management system grows with your needs.
XARA® is divided into various system groups, each tailored to specific requirements. The following overview provides a quick summary of the individual system groups and their functions.

XARA®-BASIC is a simple, preconfigured lighting control system with integrated sensors for motion-based control, including a brightness threshold. Depending on the application, the system can either turn the lights off completely or reduce them to a basic brightness level (e.g., 15%) during standby mode. The luminaires operate independently or as a master/slave solution and can be put into service quickly and easily thanks to Plug & Play. The integrated sensor technology also allows for use in hazardous areas such as underpasses.

The Advanced System is suitable for small to medium-sized facilities such as sports halls, swimming pools, and laboratories. Thanks to its plug-and-play and DIY features, the system can be installed quickly, while the software configuration allows for custom settings. RGB color switching, timers, emergency lighting integration, as well as displays and push-button controls provide full control, high flexibility, and enhanced user convenience.
The Professional System is ideal for large-scale installations with complex requirements and a high degree of customization, such as railway depots, wastewater treatment plants, or professional sports facilities. It offers maximum adaptability and control options—going beyond simple lighting control.
Thanks to software programming, each system can be individually configured, while the all-inclusive package guarantees maximum flexibility and convenience. Perfect for demanding projects where reliability and efficiency are crucial.
